Unidentified armed men burned houses of indigenous community
that earlier called for return of their ancestral land

DON CARLOS, BUKIDNON—On December 2, 2007 at about seven o'clock in the evening, three houses of the Daguiwaas clan located in Barangay San Nicolas, Don Carlos, Bukidnon were burned by unidentified armed men.

Earlier, members of the Daguiwaas clan have called for the return of their ancestral land

Two shots from M79 grenade launcher were also fired at the clustered houses of the Daguiwaas clan. The house of Datu Balabagan Jovito Daguiwaas, leader of the Daguiwaas clan, was hit. Datu Balabagan's hand was also hit by splinters. Moreover, shots from unidentified arms were fired at the clustered houses of the Daguiwaas clan.
